EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WHAT WE’VE COVERED ON PROTECTION FORUM July – September
Our regular Protection Forum is an opportunity for advisers to come together and discuss topics and issues that are important to them and the industry. Attended by a large number of advisers, as well as insurers and other industry professionals, our aim is that through the forum we can collectively drive improvements to products, processes, standards and ultimately, consumer outcomes. As we move into the final few months of the year, we take the opportunity today to look back at our July and September meetings and recap the important and varied topics discussed.
If you’d like to register to attend the next forum (taking place next week), advisers can sign up for their free ticket here.
July Session 1: GROWING THE PROTECTION MARKET DURING THE COST OF LIVING CRISIS
For our first session of the July forum we focused on the ongoing cost of living crisis and how the industry can work to continue to grow the market and ensure more individuals and families are protected.
July Session 2: KEEPING CLIENTS PROTECTED DURING THE COST OF LIVING CRISIS
Continuing with the cost of living theme, our second session looked at what the industry needs to do to ensure clients remain protected and understand the value of the protection cover they have in place. A key aspect of this discussion was how advisers and insurers can continue to highlight the benefits of protection to existing clients and ensure policies are not cancelled.
September session 1:WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES OF CONSUMER DUTY?
With consumer duty now upon us, for our September forum we took the opportunity to examine the opportunities and challenges the new duty presents to the industry. We heard from a panel of experts on what the duty means for protection advisers and insurers and what work will need to be done to ensure the industry is meeting these requirements.
September session 2: WHAT ROLE CAN INSURERS PLAY IN DRIVING UP INDUSTRY ADVICE STANDARDS?
Following the publication of some recent research from The Exeter, examining the priorities and concerns of consumers when it comes to protection, for our second September session we examined what the main drivers are for both consumers and advisers when selecting protection products.
And finally…
JOIN OUR October 2022 PROTECTION FORUM
For our October forum we will be focusing on managing cancellations and lapses, and what quality driven protection recommendations looks like. Arguably two important topics given both the ongoing cost of living crisis and consumer duty.
