Protection Guru Shortlisted for Three Categories at UK Fintech Awards: Celebrating Innovation and Impact

Last week marked a momentous occasion for the entire FTRC (Protection Guru’s parent) team as we were named finalists in three prestigious categories at the UK Fintech Awards. The recognition comes as a testament to our dedication, innovation, and disruptive impact within the insuretech landscape.

The categories in which we have been shortlisted include Director of the Year, being our very own Ian McKenna, Disrupter of the Year, and Insuretech of the Year. This acknowledgment not only validates our efforts but also highlights our commitment to pushing boundaries and driving positive change within the industry.

For us at Protection Guru, being nominated is an achievement in itself, but being shortlisted as finalists elevates our success to an outstanding level. The team is buzzing with excitement as we anticipate the upcoming awards ceremony, where we will be rooting for our fellow finalists and wishing them the best of luck.

In the spirit of championing positive change and better outcomes, Protection Guru, an advocate for advancements in the insurance sector, applauds Royal London for their recent improvements to the online trust process launched today. Protection Guru firmly believes that policies, when appropriate, should be written into trust, and Royal London’s enhancements have significantly eased this process.

Royal London’s efforts to streamline the online trust process, including features such as beneficiary nomination and online trust options . In a recent conversation with the Royal London team, they shed light on the impact of these enhancements and shared their thoughts:

“Following the enhancements we made last April to add online trust functionality to our Personal Menu journey, we’ve seen the percentage of new Personal Menu business set up in trust double when comparing Q1 23 to Q4 23. Overall, we’ve witnessed a remarkable increase of over 70% in new business set up under trust during the same period. The team at Royal London attributes this success to their continued focus on providing advisers with tools and solutions that empower them to set up protection measures seamlessly. With the launched trust enhancements, we aim to further simplify the process, ensuring that customers and their families are adequately protected without the risk of foreseeable harm ‘’

In conclusion, the recognition of FTRC as finalists at the UK Fintech Awards, combined with Royal London’s commitment to enhancing the trust setup process, exemplifies the transformative power of innovation and collaboration within the fintech and insurance sectors. As we continue on our respective journeys, we remain steadfast in our dedication to driving positive change and delivering better outcomes for all involved.
