An exciting week rounded off with the PRotection Guru Awards!
It’s going to be a busy week for Protection Guru with a lot of exciting things happening! Tomorrow and Wednesday, we have a stall in the tech hub of the CISI Financial Planning Conference (go and say hi to Adam if you are attending), we have two nominees for the Women’s Recognition Awards on Thursday and it is the eagerly awaited Protection Guru Awards on Friday.
Last week we saw the announcement of Aviva’s acquisition of AIG Life’s protection business, a significant development that is expected to spark ongoing debate in the coming months. This follows the recent changes involving Aegon and Canada Life. In a recent article by Roger Edwards in Money Marketing, the implications of this merger are discussed, raising questions about its potential impact on innovation and competition within the industry. Further details of the merger are eagerly awaited, and we anticipate continued discussions on the topic.
Don’t miss our upcoming Protection Forum scheduled for Wednesday, October 11th at 12 pm. The event will focus on ‘Lessons Learned from Consumer Duty Implementation,’ covering aspects such as insights gained, successful implementations, challenges faced, and any observed changes in insurer behaviour. Secure your spot by registering here.
Excitement is building within the Protection Guru team as we prepare for the much-anticipated Protection Guru Awards this Friday 6th October, held at the beautiful Renaissance Hotel in St Pancras. These awards were created to honour outstanding contributors in the protection industry, from newcomers to established leaders. We are looking forward to seeing familiar faces at the event. Joanne and I are both eagerly awaiting the results of the Women’s Recognition Awards 2023, where one of us may have the honour of being crowned ‘Women In Protection.’ The competition is fierce, but it’s all in good spirits! 😊
It’s a really exciting and busy week, but if you see one of us out and about, be sure to come and say hello!
