Protection Guru is 4 years old!

Protection Guru celebrated its 4^th birthday on Saturday 4^th March 2023. And what an incredible 4 years it has been, albeit against the backdrop of extremely challenging times across the industry.

The team at Protection Guru are committed to providing insights and educational content to the protection market as well as driving innovation across the protection industry.

These are our top 5 highlights of the past 4 years:

2. Award winning technology solution

In May 2022 we launched our award-winning research solution ProtectionGuruPro (PGPro). We know that the overwhelming majority of consumers protection plans are based on price and affordability considerations alone. We passionately believe consumers should be given the choice. The choice to select plans that will provide them with the best quality of cover as well as plans that meet their price or budget considerations.   We believe that by taking this approach PGPro will be at the forefront of helping firms to meet their obligations under Consumer Duty.

We have published 865 insights from our fabulous provider partners providing valuable information to Advisers.

4. Protection Forums

We have chaired 39 Protection Forums, bringing together visionary advisers with leading providers to engage in discussion on topical issues in the industry. Giving the opportunity to create positive change in the industry.

5. Protection Guru awards

We created the Protection Guru Awards to celebrate the leading lights of the protection industry with recognition to new entrants through to established names. We have hosted 2 fantastic Protection Guru awards ceremonies to date, handing out 57 awards and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back in 2023 for a wonderful day of celebrations.

There is so much more that we are delivering and to mark our 4^th birthday, we have some very exciting news to announce to the industry this week……please watch this space.

Looking back to what we covered last week, on Monday we tool a look at how Royal London support their customers with their day to day health as well as providing supporting if their health fails. 

On Tuesday following Vitality’s official launch we took a look at their new propositions and highlighted what advisers need to know when discussing them with their clients. Later on Tuesday we also took a look at who offers Health Checks and what the differences are between in surers in terms of how these are provided and what they give clients. 

Following Vitality’s launch, on Wednesday we took a look at how they have raised the bar with regard to income protection guaranteed insurability options by helping clients keep cover better aligned to their circumstances after a change of jobs.

On Thursday we provided details of what was discussed at our February Forum and in particular how insurers are supporting financially vulnerable clients following on from a FCA consultation. 

On Friday we wrapped the week up by highlighting everything we have covered within our monthly forums so far this year.
