Meet our latest Guru
Today we can formally introduce our latest Protection Guru, Jason Coleman, also known as JC. Bringing him on board is part of our 2025 strategy to provide increasing levels of support to all types of advisers who want to write protection business, especially wealth and mortgage firms.
Protection Guru has always differentiated itself by identifying the most crucial information advisers need to know to give the best possible protection advice. I’m delighted to welcome JC to help us continue this challenge. I have asked him to share his own thoughts on joining our team, which are as follows.
“I’m delighted to have formally joined Protection Guru and the wider FTRC team, a morning of onboarding with Dee Adam, Samantha Smith and of course, Ian McKenna has kept me busy. Time to share a little of my backstory as to how I find myself here.
My first encounter with FTRC came in early 2018 as Guardian prepared to launch to market, I was immediately impressed, a tool which give me independent insight, quickly, and more importantly was simple to share with end users. Guardian quickly adopted the Protection Guru Pro tool and reaped the benefits of the endless supply of independent insights from FTRC to support Adviser conversations.
My relationship with Ian and the team at FTRC over almost the decade I spent at Guardian felt like a true partnership, their insight helped me to build my own knowledge quickly, which in turn helped me to support Guardian’s Distribution team.
When the opportunity to join Ian and the team at Protection Guru arose, it was too good to miss. I accepted their offer to join the team in November with a start date of today, and here I am.
I’ll be bringing a decade of Protection experience, and three and a half decades of people development experience, I’m hugely enthusiastic about all things Protection, and equally, if not more so about helping others with their development.
I’m really looking forward to sharing everything we’ve got planned for 2025 with you, my objective is to make learning useful, relevant, and above all fun. Together we can continue to close the protection gap, inch by inch.”
Protection Guru’s mission is to achieve real growth in the protection market, and we see 2025 as a crucial year when a thriving wealth advice market can embrace protection again, provided the protection community gives them the right tools to do so.
