How to compare historic CI wordings and a fantastic opportunity

We teased the industry with the announcement of historical critical illness comparisons that had been developed and now added to PGPro. Our Protection Forum took place covering the topic of ‘How open, fair and transparent is the industry when it comes to medical underwriting?’ A huge thank you to Vitality’s John Downes and The Exeter’s Sarah Lloyd, for your valuable input on underwriting approaches and how advisers can help to make the process easier, A fabulous LinkedIn post by Lee Thomas of Pangea Life endorsing the forum, and thanks to Shirley Gooden and Zoe Priselac for your valuable contributions to the session.
The comments were flowing in the chat for the forum, thank you to everyone for your contributions. The session clearly stimulated a thought-provoking debate across advisers and insurers, so much so a follow up session will be arranged to discuss this topic. More detail to follow on this.
Protection Guru are constantly striving to make positive change in the industry. So we are shining a spotlight on menopause in light of International Women’s Day 2023 and we have published 3 separate articles covering:
- Should the protection industry pay more attention to menopause?
- How do protection products cover women during menopause?
- What additional support could insurers offer during the menopause?
There will be further commentary in this regard over the coming months and beyond with the objective of making significant positive change in the treatment and support of menopause for women.
We were delighted to hear the news that our esteemed leader, Ian McKenna has been appointed as Chair Technology Forum at Consumer Duty Alliance. As Chair of the Forum, Ian will be coordinating efforts to help advisers understand the technology that can best help them meet their regulatory obligation, improve customer outcomes and serve more clients economically so we can increase the availability of financial advice to all who need it.
